Arshin Kulkarni, the all-rounder for India’s U-19 team, fulfilled a long-held dream by meeting his childhood hero, Jacques Kallis, who currently serves as the assistant coach for Pretoria Capitals in the SA20. In a heartwarming encounter captured on video, Arshin shared a note that Kallis had signed for him around a decade ago when he was just eight years old.

Expressing his admiration, Arshin asked Kallis if he could touch his feet, a customary sign of respect in Indian culture. The South African cricket legend graciously acknowledged the request, and Arshin, in a touching moment, bent down to seek the blessings of his idol.

During their conversation, Arshin recounted a memorable incident from his eighth birthday when he expressed his wish for Jacques Kallis. In response, his grandmother gifted him a six-foot poster of the cricket great, which still adorns his room.

Kallis, visibly moved by the story, signed Arshin’s jersey and wished him success in his upcoming tournament. The Indian youngster later shared his joy on Instagram, posting pictures from the interaction and expressing gratitude, saying, “For the past 12 years, you have been the person I looked upon as a perfect cricketer and as a role model. Today was the day when I finally met you. Always and forever, sir.”

Arshin Kulkarni, known for his skills as a top-order batter who can bowl seam up, has made a mark in Indian cricket. Discovered in the inaugural Maharashtra Premier League, his impressive performance earned him a debut in the senior team for Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and secured him an IPL contract. Lucknow Super Giants signed him in the IPL auction.
