Union Minister Anurag Thakur criticized the Congress on Friday, branding it as “anti-development” and accusing the party of resorting to discussions about caste surveys and regionalism following electoral setbacks.
After participating in events related to the ‘Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ in the Jhanduta assembly constituency of Himachal Pradesh, Thakur highlighted that it marks the first instance where a prime minister has brought the public welfare schemes of the Union government directly to the doorstep of every citizen in the country.
During the Developed India Sankalp Yatra, Thakur engaged with beneficiaries of various Union government schemes, reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to achieving a developed India by 2047. He noted that numerous individuals across different states have already benefited from government initiatives, and the yatra has been instrumental in raising awareness about these schemes, leading to increased public participation.
Taking a swipe at the Congress, Thakur characterized the party as being opposed to development and stated, “Whenever it faces defeat, it resorts to discussions on caste census and regionalism.” He also criticized the INDIA alliance, the opposition coalition, alleging a lack of coordination among its constituent parties regarding seat sharing. Thakur questioned their ability to deliver justice to the people in the absence of such coordination.
