On Monday, Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani was sworn in as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Chief Justice N. Kotiswar Singh officiated the oath-taking ceremony for Justice Wani in Srinagar. The court read out the notification from the Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice (Appointments Division), the Warrant of Appointment issued by the President of India, and the Letter of Authorization from the Lieutenant-Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Having commenced his judicial service in 1997, Justice Wani has held diverse roles as a judicial officer.

Following his elevation, the count of judges in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh now stands at 16, encompassing the Chief Justice.
